age: Unknown, but sightings date back nearly 500 years...but he appears to be in his mid to late twenties.
species: Other
powers and abilities: As Michael he has slightly more enhanced senses, speed, agility and strength than an average human. He also has a slight healing factor. But when he changes into the "Beast" all of this is enhanced greatly, for better or worse.
Apperance and Style: 6', a solid 215 lbs., long dark brown hair, brown eyes, built, no scaring what so ever. Michael's dress is pretty casual. He does tend to try and somewhat stay up with the current trends and fads to keep from being too noticable. He wears a chain around his neck with two golden rings. The wedding rings from his marriage.
Family: All long dead...
History: Michael was born to a fairly normal family centuries ago in the small Scotish village of Ayr, Scotland. He grew up a normal man's life. At the age of 15 he met the girl he vowed would become his wife. It was there that his troubles began.
He fell in love with the wrong girl. Her name was Krysten. She was a beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed girl. He would do anything for her and he did. Upon his parents' passing due to old age Michael took over the family farm and then set a date to marry the woman of his dreams. He had been courting he for some time now and everyone around them were surprised he hadn't married her sooner. The day before the wedding Michael was working out in the barn when a mysterious woman in a cloak appeared.
She warned Michael that he was not fit to marry Krysten. That he was forbidden. Upon questioning the woman's sanity he felt a sharp tug in his chest and grabbed his chest. It was then the woman warned him to watch his tongue and to heed her words. Still writhing from the pain in his chest he spat at the woman. From there with the most evil, sadistic smile Michael had ever seen she told him that if he went against her wishes and married Krysten that he'd live forever, wishing for death but it would never come.
That he'd become the thing in the dark that everyone would fear and hunt. He would be outcasted from society as a whole to be alone to dwell on his mistake. And then in Michael's idiocy he came back with a witty retort which brought his sight to all white as pain overtook him and he hit the ground. He awoke several hours later to the voice of Krysten. He claimed that he must have passed out from lack of water.
Unknown to him that woman was Krysten's mother. Krysten never spoke of her mother much and for good reason. She was an extremely powerful, evil witch. Michael never spoke of what had happened to Krysten and went about with their plans. The next day they were wed in a beautiful ceremony against the old hag's wishes. Then that night they concimated their union. Later that night as they both slept a storm brewed over head. Lightning crashed and rain fell.
It was then out of nowhere Michael flew up out of bed. The pain was back, but it was all over his body. He couldn't even speak it was so bad. Flailing out of bed he was feeling the drive to be outside. He didn't know why. Krysten gave chase and tried to bring him back. His body was changing. Michael made it out the door and disappeared out into the storm in the woods. From there the transformation took on a life of its own.
The pain was intense and nearly killed him. His body twisted and contorted as his height rose, body widened and features altered. Hair began to sprout as his eyes changed color. His teeth changed shape and he grew claws. He dropped to his knees and screamed out in pain with every fiber of his being. But his scream slowly turned into a monsterous roar that could be heard for miles. Most importantly by Krysten...
Time went on. Krysten kept the farm and Michael stayed hidden in the woods around Ayr. He couldn't bring himself to go back to her like that. It became much worse when she gave birth to his son. He did eventually change back to normal, but he had no control over the beast. It had a mind of its own. He wanted nothing more than to hunt, kill, maim, destroy...everything he wasn't. So Michael watched from the forrest as the boy grew. It was then he understood the hag's mention of him "wishing for death".
Stories of sightings of Michael had been coursing all over the region. He started being called the "Beast of the Wood". Stray hunters and animals were found all over the area completely decimated by some beast. It was shortly after all of this it some how came out about who the "Beast" was...and that it had an offspring. The religious intolerance of the village formed a mob and reigned down upon the farm house in which Krysten and son slept.
Michael had sensed something was wrong and smelled fire...but it was too late. He ran as fast as he could. Fear over taking him as he ran faster and faster. The change was coming. He was too late though. Leaping yards into the air out of the woods the Beast took over and began slaughtering the mob as the area was lit up by the fire engulfing the farm house.
The villagers with their torches and pitchforks didn't stand a chance. They were mutilated in mere moments. As if looking for more the Beast looked around quickly and then stopped on two specific bodies. One was a woman...the other a small child. It was Michael's family. The Beast then would show some almost human emotion as it moved toward them and nudged them with a clawed hand, but there was nothing. The mob had killed them in the name of their "God".
Dropping to its knees it roared out in sorrow and as if for the first time Michael was in control of it...and he was. He took both of their bodies up and held them close as the tears trailed. After a few moments the anger took over and Michael no longer had control of the creature. But as if the monster felt the same ties to the two victims it charaged off with great speed toward the village. It wiped Ayr from the map.
Michael went back long enough to give them both a proper burial and gather what clothing was consumed by the flames. He then disappeared and became an ever moving nomad. The Beast reared its ugly head numerous times over the centuries and began some of the original werewolf stories and created a legend. Michael never stayed anywhere very long. Mostly out of fear of himself, but also due to the instances where the Beast came out.
Shortly after Louisiana being settled Michael moved there and took up residency. He lived there for many years with the Cajuns and took up alot of their mannerisms and way of life. He even wound up with their accent oddly enough mixed with his own. Then after many years there it was becoming obvious he wasn't aging, so he moved on. For the first time in centuries he thought he had found some place to call him, but his curse denied him that as well.
So now he moves about frequently. Never anywhere too long. Even though to some extent he's learned to control the Beast upon changing, and has even summoned the change himself from within, his life is still ruled by his emotions and fearful of losing control of the Beast...
